Occupational dress up day
As part of the Unit of Inquiry "Where we are in place in time", the children enjoyed inquiring about occupations and thinking about the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
such a fun question to explore with Pre-K 3 students.
This unit gives the children the chance to be imaginative and creative. It was beautiful to see them developing their confidence, creativity and problem-solving skills. Pre-K 3 children had so much fun dressing up in their chosen occupation dress-up clothes.
Dress-up play allows the children to dream, hope, and use their imagination. It permits children to pretend to be someone or something different and extraordinary that reflects their personality and current interests, in this case, their chosen occupation.
Furthermore, occupational dress up day promotes more independence by allowing children to practice self-care skills by dressing and undressing themselves.
