Global experiences to inspire future-ready learners

At CIST, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our Secondary School students are offered meaningful opportunities to travel abroad, explore new cultures, and develop the global perspectives essential for thriving in an interconnected world. These experiences are intentionally designed to nurture independence, leadership, cultural competence, and a genuine curiosity about the world.

While Canada remains a key destination, offering students the chance to connect with our Ontario curriculum roots and experience Canadian culture firsthand, our global learning journeys extend far beyond North America. Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in trips across Asia, Europe, and other regions, where they engage in hands-on learning, service projects, and authentic cultural immersion.

Our most recent international program took students to Inner Mongolia, where they joined a unique learning experience organised by the JX Education Group. This transformative journey focused on sustainability, global citizenship, and entrepreneurial thinking. Students explored local ecosystems, met with community leaders, and participated in activities that challenged them to think critically about the planet’s future and their role within it.

These global experiences are more than trips, they are stepping stones that broaden horizons, strengthen character, and prepare CIST students to become adaptable, compassionate, and innovative leaders in a rapidly changing world.
